Adequate Yearly Progress and Public School Choice

Public School Choice (PSC) is a critical component of NCLB. PSC offers a student enrolled in a Title I school that is identified for school improvement, corrective action, or restructuring, an opportunity to attend a public school that has not been identified. The following data shows PSC for Sequim Public Schools.

In the 2007-08 and 2008-09 school years, the Sequim School District made adequate yearly progress and therefore offered no students public school choice. In 2009-10 school year, the Sequim School District offered public school choice to 58 students. In 2010-2011 all parents of the affected school were informed of the option for PSC.  In 2011-2012, the district offered public school choice to 42 students and in 2012-2013, public school choice was offered to 90 students.  No students were offered public school choice in 2013-2014.  In 2014-2015, public school choice was not offered but Supplemental Educational Services are available to 236 students.   Please contact the office of the Assistant Superintendent Gary Neal at (360) 582-3268 or visit http://www.k12.wa.us/TitleI/SES/default.aspx
